“Sing Your Love Song”

Blow Your conch shell amidst these armies,
Shatter my misguided heart with the sound.
I am not the enemy, but I am deeply bewildered,
Let Your conch shell set me unbound.

I desired your company and mercifully so,
You drove me here, and You took my direction,
Now stand, my dear Friend, amidst these armies,
While I go on my knees and take instruction.

Sing Your love song in the middle of this battlefield,
Sing Your symphony amidst these armies.
Tired of trying to find happiness in a world of misery.
Open my eyes and set me free with Your mercy.

Shackled by everyone to be of some service,
I serve them endlessly, yet it’s You I long to please,
So let me hear the sound that comes from Your conch shell,
Let my closed soul wake and by You, be released.

I can see You take Your conch shell to Your lips,
I am waiting to hear its simple, powerful sound,
That is made transcendental because of Your breath,
Blow into it quickly and leave me spellbound!

I am waiting to hear its simple, powerful sound
Blow into it quickly and leave me spellbound
I am waiting to hear its simple, powerful sound
Blow into it quickly and leave me spellbound

Sing Your love song in the middle of this battlefield,
Sing Your symphony amidst these armies.
Tired of trying to find happiness in a world of misery.
Open my eyes and set me free with Your mercy.
Sing Your love song in the middle of this battlefield,
Your symphony amidst these armies,
Sing Your love song in the middle of this battlefield,

Sing Your love song
Sing Your love song

Blow Your conch shell amidst these armies,
Shatter my illusioned heart with the sound,
Let it burst open and be free from capture,
Let it burst open and be free for Your Love.

Sing Your love song
Sing Your love song
Sing Your love song

Sing Your love song in the middle of this battlefield,
Sing Your symphony amidst these armies.
Tired of trying to find happiness in a world of misery.
Open my eyes and set me free with Your mercy.

  1. Drainpiper, that was so amazing.
    It was heartfelt, simple, beautiful,…
You have a way of adding rhythm to words.

But, was the repetition of a particular stanza purposeful? Because, that stanza had a beautiful meaning

      Thank you 🙂
When devotees are pleased, that means Krishna is pleased, someone once told me 🙂 So thanks for being pleased!
I prayed to Krishna to let me write something nice for Him, and I see this song as His mercy

The repetition was because I wanted this to be a song, rather than a poem… So it’s like a chorus
      Hare Krishna 🙂

  2. You are so right when you say that the song was Krishna’s mercy.
We are so ignorant, and yet He blesses us with the knowledge to write about Him.
Everything, everything at all His mercy.
i was just thinking yesterday…how krishna loves to serve His devotees.
It was Navratri, and when praying to the Goddess Durga, i just thought how Lord Rama Himself did the Navratri Pooja, prayed to Shiva at Rameshwaram, etc.
And, then i thought what Maa Durga might have been thinking when He was offering pooja, it just struck me: He wanted to feel the joy of serving His sister!
    He loves to play, right?
As a son, He fell at the feet of those who worshipped His feet.
As a brother, He hugged His eternal servant (Adishesha), and actually served Him as a younger brother, when He took the Krishna avatar.
As a ‘normal human being’, true to his role, like the perfect actor, He touched the feet of sages, and it is said, washed the feet of everyone at Yuddhishtra’s Raja Suya Yajna.
As a lover He enchanted His eternal maidservants who were always in love with Him.
As He took each avatara, He loved His job totally.
As the One worshipped and served, and loved by His devotees, He longed to serve them, longs to, and how!
He played games with everyone, and served His devotees, and continues to do so wonderfully.
And, for all this, He is the original owner of all of us.
    But He is no dictator.
He is the most loving, most lovable person to whom we belong.
    Let’s sing His glories!!!!!
    Let’s celebrate Him, glorify Him,
and, be lost in Him, and so, find our true identities- as His eternal slaves!

Your comment made me smile so much!
I will never ever ever EVER get over how Krishna loves to serve His devotees. To me, that’s the greatest act of Krishna’s love. It just means so much! The fact that the Lord of this universe is willing to serve His devotees and do their bidding… AMAZING!
